Martin Scorsese (b.1942) Widely considered one of America's greatest directors, Scorsese began drawing panels for his movies at the age of eight. Like most directors coming of age in the late sixties and early seventies, Scorsese was influenced by Hitchcock and Cassevetes a combination of style and naturalism that shook the filmmaking world with the 1976 release of Taxi Driver.
